5-Hit Day for Pietryga Earns Tigers Victory Over Gabriel Richard
David Pietryga would not be denied at the plate on Friday, picking up five hits and leading Tigers to a 14-10 win over Gabriel Richard. Pietryga singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, doubled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh.
There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Tigers collected 16 hits and Gabriel Richard had seven.
Tigers fired up the offense in the first inning, when Pietryga singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Tigers scored five runs in the third inning. Tigers’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Logan Welch and Pietryga, a groundout by Brendan Alvord, and a double by Nolan Lawrence.
Gabriel Richard scored five runs in the seventh inning. Gabriel Richard big bats were led by Granzotto, Meisling, and Herman, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Ryan Adams was the winning pitcher for Tigers. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out four and walking one. Trent Degayner threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Ostrowski took the loss for Gabriel Richard. He surrendered nine runs on nine hits over two and a third innings, striking out three.
Tigers had 16 hits in the game. Pietryga, Welch, Brian Casey, and Lawrence all collected multiple hits for Tigers. Pietryga went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead Tigers in hits.
Carvill led Gabriel Richard with two hits in four at bats.
